Custom Food Truck Sign FAQ
What are custom food truck signs?
Custom food truck signs are fabricated signage elements built directly into the food truck or concession trailer during the build process. Options include rooftop marquee signs, service window marquees, channel and halo letter signs, LED trim lighting, and order and pickup window signs. Concession Nation designs and builds all signage as part of the unit so every sign is structurally integrated, not added on afterward.
What is a food truck roof sign?
A food truck roof sign, also called a rooftop marquee, is a custom fabricated sign structure built on top of the unit. It is designed to be cohesive with the overall unit design and increases visibility from a distance at events, festivals, and permanent locations. Concession Nation builds rooftop marquees as part of the full unit build when added in the proposal process.
What LED sign options are available for food trucks?
Concession Nation offers marquee backlit LED signs for service windows, LED trimmed signage designed to correspond with the graphic design of the mobile unit, and LED or RGB trim along the upper and lower areas of the unit. RGB trim allows for color customization across the exterior, while standard LED trim provides consistent illumination that keeps the unit visible and recognizable after dark.
What signs should be on a food truck?
Food trucks commonly include rooftop signs and service window marquees as part of a complete exterior signage package. Rooftop signs are designed to be cohesive with the overall unit design. Service window marquees are backlit with LED and work with custom built, design-enhanced graphics that sit on open service windows to identify order and pickup areas, with the look and feel of an electric sign without the cost of one.
What is the difference between channel letters and a marquee sign on a food truck?
Channel and halo letter signs are created by professional sign companies and consist of individual letter encasements with internal electrical components and lighting. Marquees are designed to resemble an electric sign using a translucent material on the face of the sign with an LED strip to illuminate it. Unlike channel letters, the marquee is a custom build by Concession Nation and is fabricated as part of the unit itself.
Are food truck signs illuminated at night?
Signage can be illuminated provided the proper lighting is incorporated into the unit during the build. Options include LED backlit service window marquees, LED or RGB trim along the upper and lower exterior, and rooftop signs with integrated lighting. The type and extent of illumination is selected during the design and quoting process.
Can I get custom signs on a concession trailer?
Yes, custom signs can be added to any mobile unit built by Concession Nation. Channel and halo letter signs are recommended for stationary units only. Those sign types can be easily damaged by low hanging tree branches, tight exterior locations, and strong winds from extended highway driving. For mobile units that travel regularly, a rooftop marquee or flat signage option is the more durable choice.
What is food truck signage?
Food truck and trailer signage refers to any visual element that enhances the graphic identity and visibility of the mobile unit. This includes exterior signs, illuminated marquees, LED trim, menu boards, and order and pickup window signs. Concession Nation incorporates all signage options into the unit during the build process, ensuring each element is structurally and visually consistent with the overall design.
