The most common food truck sizes are 18′, 20′, and 22′, though trucks can range from 14′ to 24′, including the cabin.

For example, the 14ft is the box length which is where the kitchen is, then the overall length (bumper to bumper) is 23ft 9in. See below as a reference:
14ft step van overall length 23’9”
16ft step van overall length 25’9”

How Much Does a Food Truck Weigh?
Ford F-59 models are very popular for food truck builds due to its shape. Each stepvan has a manufacturer’s label that lists the GVWR information found in the cabin. Custom food trucks at Concession Nation start at $47,000 for 14 ft builds (excluding the stepvan cost) and can go over $225,000 for fully equipped 24 ft trucks including the price of the stepvan. Most standard food truck builds take about 7 to 8 weeks after the deposit is received. Custom food trucks usually take about 8 to 10 weeks after the deposit is received. The time of completion can vary depending on the step van inventory availability at the dealer, the equipment availability from suppliers, and the graphic design final approval to be able to print and install it on the food truck. Our production schedule changes weekly as new orders are received.
During the build, we send regular photos and videos so you can see the progress along the way.
What is the difference between a food truck and a concession trailer?
A food truck is a self propelled vehicle with a built in commercial kitchen. A concession trailer is towed behind a separate vehicle and is typically less expensive to purchase. Trailers are wider than stepvans by like a foot. Trailers have a taller interior ceiling than trucks. Also, trailers offer more versatility with length and height than food trucks. Food trucks provide greater mobility and a single vehicle setup. Concession Nation builds both, browse our food trucks and concession trailers to compare.
Can I run a food truck on a battery system instead of a generator?
Yes. Concession Nation is an industry innovator, and was one of the first to offer a battery powered food truck as a clean, quiet alternative to traditional generator setups. Battery systems require less maintenance, produce no fumes, and operate silently – ideal for indoor venues, parks, and noise restricted events.
